Name Change?
Tiz: Mummy, why did your mum and dad call you Ann-Marie?
Me: Because they thought it was a nice name. Don't you?
Tiz: Yes, but they could have given you a better name.
Me: Oh? Can you think of a better name for me?
Tiz: Yes. They should have called you Angel
awwwwwww [cue mushy moment for me]

And a couple to catch up...
Two conversations I remember, that are worth keeping. (BTW, we call Isabelle Tiz for short, we have done since she was tiny, and she usually refers to herself as Tiz)
Isabelle on being old.
Mark was 40 in December and this prompted a conversation between Isabelle and Daddy.
Tiz: Daddy, now you're 40, you're very old.
Daddy: 40's not very old.
Tiz: Well, you're not exactly young are you (disdain on her face).
Daddy: But Mummy is older than me
Tiz: Yes, but Mummy is still young, You're very old now.
Isabelle on Daddy growing a beard
Tiz: Daddy, why are you growing a beard? You really do need to shave.
Daddy: I'm growing it because I like it.
(mummy's voice from the background) Tiz, he's turning into a wookie.
Tiz: (very loud laughter) Daddy, you do look like a wookie. Why do you want to look like a wookie?
Daddy: I'm NOT turning into a wookie, I just like to have a goatee beard.
Tiz: Well, you definately look like a wookie. And you've got hairy ears, wookies have hairy ears, Daddy is a wookie, daddeeeee is a wookeeeeeee. Will we have to call you Chewbacca?

My challenge today...
I heard a strange sliding, wooshing sound. I shouted from the kitchen (while making packed lunch for school), Isabelle, what are you doing?
"I'm jumping on and sliding off the sofa again to see how many times I can do it before the adverts on the telly finish. That's my challenge today".
[cue eye roll and head shaking from me in the kitchen]

Shift Key
Isabelle: Mummy, what does this key do?
Me: It's the shift key
Isabelle: does it shift things out the way?
Me: erm, no. You hold it down, then press a letter key and it makes it a capital letter
Isabelle: wow, that's very clever!

Bunny Rabbits, Ninja's and Squirrels
Yesterday was Sunday, a rainy Sunday at that and Isabelle decided to make up a game of Bunny rabbits and ninjas. I didn't even know she knew the word ninja!
And this morning she decided to be a squirrel. I asked her what she would like for breakfast before going to school. She replied "acorns of course". Oh, of course, how silly of me.
